Safe Food Systems, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida brings a combination of over eighty (80) years of food service and food industry expertise.  We are a company committed to the health and safety of the food industry and its patrons.  We offer training classes that satisfy the state mandated food safety training requirements for food service workers.

Our manager certification classes are conducted in conjunction with the
National Registry of Foodservice Professionals.  This organization is one of three nationally recognized training programs. We strive to educate and prepare candidates to successfully take the Food Safety Manager Certification Examination.

We also offer 2 hour training classes for hourly employees that satisfy the state mandated training requirement for food handlers.  Our classes are offered in both English and Spanish at various locations around the state of Florida.  Check our class schedule for upcoming classes.

In addition Safe Food Systems, Inc., along with John Garneau, developed the Health Safe Buffet System.  It is Mr. Garneau’s extensive experience in the restaurant industry and many hours of design and development that has lead to the development of this safe food product.

John Garneau, Sr., a restaurateur who has owned and operated famed buffets in Pennsylvania and Florida, long ago recognized the dangers of the popular buffet system where bowls of food on the buffet table were directly exposed to customers serving themselves and where all customers were exposed to each other by handling the same serving utensils. Food can be contaminated by patrons coughing and sneezing while serving themselves, food can be contaminated by patrons with unclean hands using utensils which had fallen into and onto the food, and the customer themselves, by using unclean serving utensils that others had used, can become carriers of contamination.

To remedy one part of this problem, in 1959 he designed, developed and patented the sneeze guard, the clear glass cover which hangs over buffet tables, that is today the standard protection for all buffets. This patent solved exposure of food to customers’ coughing and sneezing, but it did not solve the problem of utensil contamination.

In 1995, Garneau was instrumental in designing and patenting the final step for making buffets safe from contamination between the customers and food contamination from the utensils. Safe Food System, Inc. has taken his vision from a concept to rolling out the actual product the Health Safe Buffet System.

The Health Safe Buffet System is patterned to comply with the Model Food Code issued by the U.S. Public Health Service Food and Drug Administration’s Section 3-306.13(B) and Section 2-301.11.

Uncontrolled introduction of disease and microorganisms carried by customers who handle conventional food bar utensils is a reality that we are all aware of.  Our Health Safe Buffet System addresses this problem by removing direct contact with the food by the end user or customer.
